This is a plain-English description of how SeeBallHitBall handles your personal data. It is not legal advice.
SeeBallHitBall is a free, non-commercial project built and run by one person as a hobby, not a company. There is no in-house legal or data-protection team; this policy is our best plain-English description of what we do with your data. We are still the data controller for the personal data described here.
We never collect card numbers or other payment credentials. All payment is by direct bank transfer between player and host, off this website — we never see or touch the money.
We do not sell your data, show ads, send marketing, or use tracking or analytics cookies... yet.
We use some companies to process data on our behalf - some may process data outside the UK under standard data-protection safeguards. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
We use reasonable technical measures — database access controls and encrypted connections — to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and as a free hobby project we can't offer the guarantees a commercial service might.
Account and profile data until you delete your account. Game history for as long as your account exists. Notifications for 90 days. Server logs for up to 30 days. Backups for up to 30 days after deletion.
Under UK data protection law you can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict how we use it. You can exercise most of these yourself at any time: edit your profile, or delete your account entirely, from Settings, which removes your profile, photo and sign-ups. Because this is a one-person hobby project rather than a company, there is no monitored support inbox for privacy requests — if Settings can't do what you need, we may not be able to help further. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) at any time.
We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in.
SeeBallHitBall is for people aged 18 and over.
We'll post any changes on this page and tell signed-in users about significant ones.
