This is a plain-English description of the terms for using SeeBallHitBall. It is not legal advice.
SeeBallHitBall is a free website where people list volleyball games and sign up to play them. It's a side project built and run by one person for fun, not a registered business, and it's provided free of charge with no warranty of any kind. By using it, you accept these terms.
You must be 18 or over and give accurate information.
You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. One account per person — don't let someone else use your sign-in.
Games are organised by hosts, not by us. We don't check venues, hosts, players, skill levels, insurance or safety arrangements, and we don't guarantee that a listed game actually happens as described.
SeeBallHitBall never processes, holds or sees any money. All payment is by direct bank transfer (or whatever method the host specifies) straight from you to the host, entirely off this website. We don't verify that a host is who they say they are, that the venue booking they describe actually exists, or that any payment you send will be used as intended or refunded if something goes wrong. If you send money to a host and the game doesn't happen, the host never had a real booking, or you're otherwise scammed, that's a dispute between you and the host — we accept no responsibility and won't be refunding you. Only pay once you appear in a game as Pending or Confirmed, never from the waitlist, and check the game details carefully before you do.
Give accurate game details, only list games they're actually entitled to run, share payment details that are their own, and keep players informed of changes.
Post unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or misleading content; harass, impersonate or scam other users; use SeeBallHitBall to collect other users' data; or use the site for any commercial purpose we haven't agreed to.
The SeeBallHitBall site, its design and its code belong to us (or our licensors). You can use the site for your own personal use, but you can't copy, resell or republish it or its content.
Volleyball is a physical activity with a real risk of injury. You take part at your own risk, and you're responsible for following the host's and venue's rules and using your own judgement about your fitness to play.
We can remove any game or content, and suspend or close any account, that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk, without needing to give a reason.
The service is free and provided "as is", with no guarantee it will always be available, error-free or secure. It may change, break or shut down entirely, at any time and without notice.
SeeBallHitBall is a free, for-fun project, not a professional service, and we take no responsibility for what happens between users — including scams, non-existent bookings, payment or refund disputes, injuries, or anything else arising from a game or your dealings with another user. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of the site. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that can't legally be excluded, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
We make reasonable efforts to keep SeeBallHitBall free of viruses and other harmful content, but we don't guarantee it and aren't responsible for any damage to your devices from using the site. Make sure you have your own up-to-date security software.
Hosts may share contact links (WhatsApp, Telegram, maps and similar) or payment links. We don't control or vouch for any of these, and we're not responsible for what happens on them.
Nobody except you and us can enforce these terms, including under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This removes your profile, photo and sign-ups.
We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version here. Continuing to use SeeBallHitBall after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
